Celebrating Max Jasny and Toni Kauffman… and Wishing Them a Wonderful Retirement!
This year, the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center said farewell to two remarkable members of our office staff: Max Jasny and Toni Kauffman. As co-office managers, they brought warmth, dedication, and service to our community. We are so grateful for all they gave to the Hebrew Center, and we invite you to join us in thanking them both for their years of outstanding work.
Max Jasny wore many hats during his time at MVHC, and his impact is felt across every part of the organization. From managing finances and databases to sending out our weekly newsletters, Max was the steady engine behind much of our day-to-day operations. His kind and calm presence helped guide us through countless programs and transitions. Fortunately, Max and his family remain deeply connected to MVHC, and we know we’ll continue to see him around. Reflecting on his time here, he shared: “There are really interesting people here on the island and connected to the Hebrew Center. All we see is usually just the tip of the iceberg, but everyone has a very deep story.”
Toni Kauffman joined our team eight years ago and quickly became an essential part of our operations. Though not Jewish herself, Toni is a generous and enthusiastic champion of our mission. Her leadership extended far beyond logistics as she helped build bridges across communities, especially through her role as president of the MV NAACP. She played a key part in coordinating joint events between our organizations, like our Interfaith services for Martin Luther King Jr Day. Toni shared: “The doors are always open to support those in need—and so much more!”
Max and Toni, we will miss your energy, your kindness, and your commitment, but we know you’re not far. Thank you for everything.
